Introduction
This section of the website is devoted to my own family tree, extended to those of my nephews and niece.
The bulk of the information has been drawn from resources available on the internet as family commitments
currently prevent me from travelling to the appropriate local record centres.
Sections:
- Individuals - an alphabetical index to all the individuals in the family tree. Click on any name
to see the full details of that individual. The details page includes links to parents and children's
records. From here you can also switch to pedigree and decendant displays.
- Families - this index displays the wives and children, in date order, under each father, giving an
alternative way of browsing the genealogy. Links take you to the standard individual displays as
above.
- Places - the places index enables you both to see the wide scattering of places
associated with the tree, and to drill down to see which of the individuals were
associated with that place. A future development I hope will be the ability to plot this
information onto online maps.
- Occupations - an index to allow you to view all the individuals involved in a
particular occupation or trade
- Transcriptions - transcriptions of
- Birth, marriage, and death certificates. Links have been added to any names
(including witnesses) who appear in the family tree, enabling you to pull up their
full details. Comments have been added, for example, to show relationships between
witnesses and principals.
- Wills, bequests, and obituaries. Again links and notes have been added.
- Military records - transcriptions of medal cards and service records.
- Portrait Gallery - a mixture of family photographs and some modern photographs of
significant places.
- Going Deeper - some stories which have emerged during the family history research.
