Charles Edward Coe

An Undutiful Son

Charles Edward Coe, rivetter, Desborough, was charged with threatening the life of his mother, Esther Coe, at that place, on April 28.

— The complainant, an elderly woman, stated that on the night of 28th ult. defendant threatened to kill her. He was quite sober, and witness was quite afraid, as she believed his head was affected. The threats had been going on for some time.

Horace Coe, another son, deposed to hearing the threats used by his brother towards his mother. Defendant appeared very strange at times.

— Defendant was bound over in £10 to keep the peace, and ordered to find a surety in a similar amount. In default of finding a surety he was sent to prison for a month.
