PARISH RECORDS

For the Church of England parish, records of baptisms, marriages and burials have been taken from three sources:

  1. from images of the Parish Registers, transcribed by me. These are the primary source, written by the vicar or curate of the day

  2. from images of the Bishop's Transcript, transcribed by me. These were copies of the Parish Register, made at the end of the year, and usually signed as accurate by the vicar or curate, and by the churchwardens. As they were copies there may be errors and omissions

  3. from transcripts provided by the Northamptonshire Record Office

I hope eventually to check all records against the primary Parish Records. Note that there are still gaps in the transcriptions; you can see where these are by clicking on the appropriate Summary link, below.

Not every baptism took place in the parish church. The following links take you to baptisms at the Independent and the Methodist Chapels.
