Burglary at Desborough

6th October 1871


JOHN CHRISTOPHER WRIGHT, 17, labourer, pleaded guilty to having broken and entered the dwelling-house of Herbert Yeomans, and stealing £5 14s. 11d., the monies of the said Herbert Yeomans, at Desborough, on the 6th October.

—He had been twice previously convicted, on the last occasion for a similar offence to the present, and was now sentenced to Twelve Months' Imprisonment and Five Years' Police Supervision.

Note: There were two men named Herbert Yeomans in Desborough, both born about 1827: Herbert son of Richard Smith Yeomans, and Herbert son of Thomas Yeomans.
