James Willoughby v. Benjamin Cheney

County Court, November 1902

The monthly sitting of the above Court was held on Monday, before his Honour Judge Snagge, the undefended cases being disposed of by Mr. H. Lamb, Registrar.

Adjourned— James Willoughby, pressman, Rothwell, v. Benjamin Cheney, retired butcher, of Rothwell, late of Broughton.

— Plaintiff claimed £12 5s. 10d. and & 15s., being the value of 55 fowls and seven ducks, belonging to the plaintiff, which the defendant wrongfully sold without the plaintiff's consent, the proceeds of which he converted to his own use, and £4 10s. in respect of board, lodgings, and goods supplied.

— Mr. E. Barlow appeared for the plaintiff and Mr. F. Newton, who appeared for the defence, applied for an adjournment, which was granted.
