Benjamin Coe

Attempted Suicide, 8th Oct 1894

Benjamin Coe, Desborough, was brought up in custody charged with attempting to commit suicide by taking a quantity of opium, at Desborough, on the 8th inst.

—Superintendent Andrews stated the facts of the case to the magistrates, and added that he had made enquiries, but could not find that defendant took the opium with the intent to destroy himself, therefore he should ask the Bench to dismiss the case.

—Defendant was then handed over to the custody of his brother.
