John Dexter, Bankrupt

Sale of Property, 13th Oct. 1784

To be SOLD by AUCTION, by ROWLAND ROUSE, on Wednesday the 13th Day of October inst. at the George Inn, in Desborough, in the County of Northampton, about Three o'Clock in the Afternoon (by Order of the Assignees of Mr. John Dexter, of Desborough aforesaid, Bankrupt) subject to such Conditions as shall be there produced; if previously disposed of by private Contract, due Notice will be given in this Paper;

All the said Bankrupt's Real ESTATE, which comprizes,

Lot 1 A genteel & convenient Stone-built MESSUAGE or DWELLING HOUSE, well situated at DESBOROUGH, aforesaid, upon the Turnpike Road leading from Market-Harborough to Kettering; and consisting of good Cellars, a Kitchen, Brew-house, Pantries, a Hall, Parlours, five Chambers and two large Garrets; also a large Yard, Barn, Stables, a good and convenient Garden walled round, with a handsome Summer-House therein; and also an Orchard or Homestead well fenced, and adjoining to the said Premises.

Lot 2  A CLOSE of rich ARABLE LAND, lying in the Lordship of DESBOROUGH aforesaid, on the East Side of the said Turnpike Road, within a Quarter of a Mile of the above Messuage, and containing four Acres or thereabouts.

The above Premises are Freehold, and in the Occupation of the said Mr. Dexter, who will shew the same.
