The Examination of John Wheeler taken Concerning his last
Legal Settlement on the 19th Day of January in the Year of Our
Lord 1740/1
This Examination upon Oath Saith that when he was thirteen Years
of Age or thereabouts, he was Hired in the Servis of George Web
at Beenham in the County of Berks Yeoman, for one Whole Year and
Served the Same Accordingly, and Received one whole Years Wages
for His Said Servis, Sinc which he hath Done no Act or thing
what so Ever to Gain himself a legal Settlement Else where
