Northampton Shire to witt

We John Rowlat  John Orsborn  Thos Rice & Thos Reesby Church Wardens and Overseers of ye poor of ye parish of Corby in ye County of Northampton aforesaid do hereby own and acknowledge James Loak and his wife and Family to be our Inhabitants legally settled in ye parish of Corby in ye County of Northampton aforesaid In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our Hands and Seals this Ninth Day of July in ye 18th Year of ye Reign of our Sovereign Lord George ye Second by ye Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of ye Faith and in ye year of our Lord 1744

To ye Church Wardens and Overseers of Desborough in ye said County of Northampton or to any or either of them

We whose Names are hereunto subscribed two of his Majesties Justices of ye Peace for ye said County of Northampton aforesaid do allow of ye above Written Certificate and we do also Certify that Giles Loak one of ye Witnesses who Attested ye Execution of ye said Certificate hath made Oath before Us that he did see the Church Wardens and Overseers whose Names and Seals are to ye sd Certificate subscribed and set severally, Sign and Seal ye said Certificate and that ye markes of ye said Richard Yeomans and Giles Loak whose names are above subscribed as Witnesses to ye Execution of ye said Certificate are of their own proper Hand Writing dated ye Ninth Day of July in ye year of our Lord 1744
