Removal Order 13th December 1814
from Desborough to Lubenham in Leicestershire

County of Northampton

To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Desborough in the said County and to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Lubenham in the County of Leicester and to each and every of them.

UPON the complaint of the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the Parish of Desborough aforesaid, in the said County of Northampton unto us, whose names are hereunto set, and seals affixed, being two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said County of Northampton and one of us of the quorum, that Thomas Cockerill Martha his Wife and Ann their Daughter aged one year and a quarter have come to inhabit in the said Parish of Desborough not having gained a legal settlement there, nor produced any certificate, owning them to be settled elsewhere, and that the said Thomas Cockerill Martha his Wife and Ann their Daughter are now actually are become chargeable to the said Parish of Desborough

We, the said Justices, upon due Proof made thereof, as well upon the examination of the said Thomas Cockerill upon oath, as otherwise, and likewise upon due consideration had of the premises, do adjudge the same to be true; and we do likewise adjudge, that the lawful settlement of them the said Thomas Cockerill Martha his Wife and Ann their Daughter is in the said Parish of Lubenham in the said County of Leicester

We do therefore require you the said churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Desborough or some, or one of you, to convey the said Thomas Cockerill Martha his Wife and Ann their Daughter from and out of your said Parish of Desborough to the said Parish of Oadby and them to deliver to the churchwardens and overseers of the poor there, or to some, or one of them, together with this our order, or a true copy thereof; and we do also hereby require you the said churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Lubenham to receive and provide for them as inhabitants of your said Parish

Given under our hands and seals the thirteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Fourteen.
