Charles Feakin was born in Desborough about 1846; the eldest of seven children known to date of Daniel Feakin and Harriet Manton. Daniel worked as a silk weaver, but after a spell as an agricultural labourer Charles worked in the shoe/boot trade.

Sarah Ann Bosworth was also born in Desborough. She was baptised on 21st September 1845. She was the second of five known children of Thomas Bosworth and his first wife Mary Timpson. Thomas Bosworth was a silk weaver, then an innkeeper, then living on his own means.

Charles married Sarah Ann in 1868. The couple had nine children according to the 1911 census, though only 6 were still living by then.

Their daughter Emily married Allan Allbright in 1908. Allan was already a widower, having lost his first wife Mary Bull close to the time their daughter Mary was born. Emily and Allan had a son Newman James in 1910. Emily died 3 years later.

Charles and Sarah's son Arthur, died after being gassed during the Great War. You can read brief information about his army career and a physical description here.
