-------

This lovely bud so young and fair
C???? by early doom
Just came to shew how sweet a flower
In Paradice would bloom

James was born 1st September 1805 and baptised 2 weeks later at Frolesworth.  He was the son of William Marvin and his wife Ann Cave.

The monument is heavily corroded and the photograph required a lot of editing to make the text clear. The first half of the second line of the verse is too damaged to make out.
