Dorothy Aiers was the daughter of George Ernest Aiers of Cononley in Yorkshire and Lucy Marlow of Desborough.

Frederick Groocock was the son of Arthur Robert Groocock of Desborough and his wife Ann Gertrude Baxter of Leicester.
