of JOHN ESSAM who Died
April the 29th 1766
AGED 30 YEARS
O cruel Death who would not leave
A tender mother and a wife most dear
Great is ye loss to those she left behind
But she, we hope, ever the joys doth find.
Elizabeth Thorpe was born in 1736 and married
John Essam at at Desborough on 26th December 1754.
The couple had five (known) children. Two died as infants; a third died at
the age of 5.
