Mary Ann's maiden name is not yet known. She was
married to William Giles by 1877, possibly in Yorkshire, where their eldest (known) son was born. By 1879 they
were living in Oakham in Rutland, where their next three children were born. They had moved to Desborough by
1885 and had three more children by 1891.
