Bertha (full name
Alberta Gidley Walters)
was born at Pinhoe in Devon, the daughter of
George Walters and
Harriet Turner.
The family moved from Devon between 1876 and 1878 (ie between the birth
of Bertha and her younger sister Lettie), settling in Desborough by 1891.
Bertha was still living with her parents in 1901 but by 1911 the household
was headed by Lettie and her husband John William Robinson.
