"TRUSTING IN JESUS"

William Woodfield Tailby was born in 1825, the fourth (known) child of John Tailby and Rebecca Woodfield. He, like his father and two brothers, was a butcher.

John Tailby died in 1854. By 1861 Rebecca was a farmer as well as running the Swan Inn. William was living with her.

Emily was the twelfth known child of John and Rebecca. She married William Clarke in 1867 but by 1881 she was widowed. She returned home to Desborough to become her brother William's housekeeper at the Swan Inn, which he had taken over after their mother's death.
