Was in the Engagement with the Ghoorkas at Baitool under the Command of Major General Sulivan Wood in 1815. In the Deccan Campaign and at the Storming & Capture of Bhurtpore in 1826


* The dates here, and the comment are confused. "in the East Indies" is written in pencil whilst the line above is in ink, so it is not clear whether the two lines are meant to be read together. However, the fact that William was at the battle with the Ghurkas at Baitool in 1815 and in the Deccan campaign in 1826 suggest that he served 17 years in the East Indies, making the "From" and "To" dates correct and the "Years" incorrect. The total of "Years" and "Days" at the foot of the table must be an error.
