Statement by No. WR/11033 Pioneer FAWCETT F.H., 311th Road Construction Company, R.E. :-

"On October 2nd I was helping to discharge a steam wagon and there was an Officer's kit in. This was taken out by a man who carried it some distance and then threw it off his shoulder on to the ground. As soon as it touched the ground there was an explosion and I was injured."
