Job Marlow was born 31 Aug 1834 in Desborough, and was baptised at the Wesleyan Chapel on 09 Nov 1834. He was the fifth of nine children known to date to have been born to Robert Marlow and Ann Robinson.

Job was married to Eliza Baxter about 1857. Eliza was born in Rothwell on 14 Jul 1836 and baptised the following month at the Independent Chapel there. She was the second known child of Joseph and Mary Baxter.

Job and Eliza had at least seven children. Their second son, George, was  Chairman of the Desborough Industrial & Provident Co-operative Society Ltd from 1893. The Jubilee Souvenir of the society includes a brief biography of George together with a photograph.
