Harriett Letts was born about 1843 at Haselbech in Northamptonshire,
the seventh and youngest known child of
John Letts and
Lucy Goddard.
Harriett was married to
Benjamin Cheney on
23 Jun 1863 but was left a widow with three young children just six years
later. For a while she lodged with her sister and brother-in-law in
Northampton. In 1872 she married
Henry Marlow,
himself a widower with two sons. The couple had a further six children, the
youngest of whom celebrated her 101st birthday in 1987.
